Lawrence House


The Lawrence House was built in 1906 and was originally located on Garfield St. in Hanley, SK. To some, it is known as the ‘Merchant House’ as it was custom-built for Mr. Amunds - a local merchant. It was the largest home in the booming centre of Hanley, and its 12 stately Victorian rooms with tall ornate ceilings attracted many onlookers interested in the unique home.  Visit website for more details.

Boffin Public Garden


The lower level of the Garden Park is home to a large pond surrounded by extensive perennial plantings. Throughout the summer, a variety of native and exotic water plants enhance the beauty of the pond; most notable are the large Lotus blooms amongst the carpet of water lilies. A small lawn and two patio areas offer the opportunity to sit, relax and watch the many koi swimming in the pond.   Visit website for more details.

Crocus Prairie


Located north of the Regional Psychiatric Centre on Central Avenue, the Crocus Prairie, informally named for the beautiful native crocuses found there, is a very ecologically sensitive site. Northeast Swale


The Northeast Swale is an ancient river channel that begins at Peturrson’s Ravine and carves a 26 km long path adjacent to the South Saskatchewan River. The Northeast Swale contains considerable areas of native prairie grasslands and offers high-quality biodiversity, proximity to urban areas, economic benefits for recreation and education and a natural filter for our air and water.
